Anthropic's Claude AI Launches Beta Tool for App Creation
Anthropic, the AI startup founded by former OpenAI employees, has launched a new feature in its Claude AI chatbot. This beta tool allows users to create AI-powered applications directly within the platform, with the company encouraging users to share their creations and introducing a policy for API usage charges.
Anthropic was established in 2021 by seven ex-OpenAI staff, including siblings Daniela and Dario Amodei, with Dario serving as CEO. The company's latest feature enables users to kickstart app development by simply describing their desired application. Claude then generates the corresponding code.
Early access users have already developed a range of applications using this feature, including AI-powered games, learning tools, data analysis apps, writing assistants, and agent workflows. These applications can interact with Claude via an API. With the new beta feature, users can now visualize and interact with the generated code directly within the Claude environment.
