Taxi Penschok, serving Amberg since 1980, has embraced the digital age. The company, now led by Benjamin Vogel, has partnered with Freenow by Lyft to introduce a modern dispatch system. This upgrade offers customers more booking options and contactless payment, marking a significant shift for the long-standing taxi service.
Freenow by Lyft, a European taxi app operating in nine markets and over 180 cities, has equipped Taxi Penschok with a state-of-the-art digital dispatch system. The core of this system is a sophisticated software that centrally manages Taxi Penschok's entire fleet, currently comprising up to 15 vehicles.
The new system combines various booking methods on a single platform. Customers can now reserve a taxi through the app, by phone, or via personal customer service. Additionally, contactless payment methods have been introduced, enhancing convenience and safety.
Founded in 2014, Freenow was acquired by Lyft in July 2025. Lyft, a global mobility platform, operates in several countries, including the United States and Europe. Thomas Zimmermann currently leads Freenow by Lyft as CEO. The company aims to reach new customer groups through digital channels with this innovative solution.
