The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Renault's new Alpine Sports car is set to make its debut before the end of 2016. The production version of this new model, expected to be named either the Alpine AS100 or AS1, is anticipated to resemble the Alpine Vision concept that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016.

Renault's Alpine sub-brand has revealed the Alpine A390_b, a Sport Fastback that promises to deliver an electric driving experience like no other. Unlike its predecessor, the A110, the A390_b marks a significant departure for the brand, as it moves towards the A290 EV era.

The Alpine A390_b is an electric vehicle, equipped with three motors, designed to deliver appealing performance without requiring copious amounts of power. The 1.8-liter engine in the new Alpine is expected to deliver approximately 250bhp, with a potential output of up to 300bhp.

While the debut event for the new Alpine will not be in Paris, as initially speculated, the Alpine A390_b is expected to make its first public appearance in the city of lights. The new Alpine, which can be compared to the Alfa Romeo 4C, is expected to be a global car, with Renault planning to sell only 5,000 units per year.

The price of the new Alpine is expected to be around £50,000, making it an attractive option for those seeking a high-performance electric vehicle. However, a camouflaged version of the assumed new Alpine A120 is already on sale for approximately £50,000, leading some to question the pricing strategy for the new model.

The Alpine Vision Concept, which was first presented at the Formula 1 race weekend in Monaco, is heading for a debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The camouflaged version of the assumed new Alpine A120, currently on sale, serves as a tantalising glimpse into what we can expect from the production version of the A390_b.

As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Renault's new Alpine Sports car is poised to make a significant impact. With its electric powertrain, sleek design, and impressive performance, the Alpine A390_b is sure to turn heads and set new standards in the world of sports cars.
