Alleged Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X pricing details surfaced, potentially revealing lower-than-anticipated costs.
The tech world is abuzz with the latest pricing announcements for the upcoming Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X handheld devices, developed in partnership with ASUS ROG.
While the official prices for the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X have yet to be revealed, several leaks suggest that the Xbox Ally could be priced around $599, featuring 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD, and the Xbox Ally X might cost about $899, boasting 24 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD.
These prices are in line with the leaked EU prices, which convert to approximately $699 for the Xbox Ally and $1,050 for the Xbox Ally X. However, it's important to note that these prices are likely to match the sticker price in the United States, rather than a simple currency conversion.
The ASUS ROG Ally, which is already available in Europe for around €699 and in the United States for $649, comes with similar specifications: Z1E, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD.
The Xbox Ally devices are expected to offer a customised Windows 11 experience, with boot-to-full-screen-app capabilities, and a new Xbox app designed to handle multi-tasking and other system features, optimised for controller use.
The Xbox Ally X (2024) is expected to feature the Z1E processor, while the 2025 model will reportedly be powered by the Z2A. The Xbox Ally X (2024) is estimated to cost $799 and come with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD, while the 2025 model is expected to be priced at $899, with the same specifications.
It's worth noting that the ASUS ROG Ally is not expected to be subsidised by Microsoft, as players increasingly flock to PC and third-party software sales are a smaller part of Microsoft's overall business.
The Xbox Ally range is positioned as premium devices, with the Xbox Ally likely near $600-$700, and the Xbox Ally X potentially exceeding $800 and approaching $1,000+ in the US market.
