Krasnodar Krai is the spearhead, becoming the first region in Russia to unveil 5G networks powered by homegrown equipment. MTS, the regional service provider, has hoisted base stations, meticulously crafted by IRITEYA. This equipment boasts compatibility with GSM, LTE, and 5G standards, enabling data transmission speeds of a blazing 1 Gbps.
In a statement by the regional department of information technology and telecommunications, this step empowers network operators to efficiently manage their frequency resources and modernize their networks without splashing out on extensive infrastructure renovations.
A demonstration of this cutting-edge tech was showcased at the CIPR-2025 conference, where plans for large-scale domestic base station deployment are said to be underway. Reportedly, IRITEYA intends to churn out about 1000 stations this year.
