1&1 Rolls Out RCS for Android Users, iPhone Users Still Waiting
1&1 has rolled out Rich Communication Services (RCS) for Android users in its network. However, iPhone users are still waiting for the feature, with a delay in deployment as of October 2025.
RCS, which enhances messaging with features like read receipts, typing indicators, and file sharing, is now available to Android users on the 1&1 network. This rollout follows the company's decision to move all customers to its own network in the coming weeks. Previously, many users were on mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) networks, but they are now being switched to 1&1's own network.
The implementation for iPhone users, however, is still pending. 1&1 manages the RCS deployment for Apple devices itself, but a specific timeline for iPhone users has not been announced yet.
1&1 customers with Android devices can now enjoy RCS features. The company is working to ensure all users are on its own network. Meanwhile, iPhone users await RCS, with no confirmed deployment date yet.
